ABOUT

I worked at Death by Audio for a long time. They’re family. While making a record in 2022 with the band I’m in (Activity) I wanted a certain sound that the original DBA Exit Index approximated but didn’t quite pull off, so I rebuilt it and did some stuff to get the sound I wanted. I decided to make some for others too. Then came the Dot Dot Damage. Then the Active Acid. The future, who knows. 

I like to make things that feel unique when I'm playing them, and I like pedals that make me play differently, that make me think "what if I ..." when I'm playing, instead of just "oh, what a good sounding delay" or something like that (nothing wrong with good delays though). So that's what I try to make, things that give me and others ideas. 

Other than through this website, I'm very exclusive with who I deal with to sell brand new Trap Door Electronics pedals: Eastside Music Supply in Nashville and Sound Lab Haarlem, Netherlands, and a few shops in Japan. These stores rule and you should support them if you don't want to go directly through this site.

All pedals will get put out in batches and when they’re gone, they’re gone until I can make more. It’s all hand-wired and hand-soldered and I’m just me so I can only make so many, so bear with me.

REPAIRS / SUPPORT

A lot of times it’s a bad cable or bad power supply so please double check that first. That said, all pedals are guaranteed for life, so if it’s still not working, write me at info@trapdoorelectronics.com with a detailed description of the problem and we’ll go from there. I’ll repair anything for free so long as it hasn’t been modded or improperly powered. 

Orders can be cancelled if they haven’t been shipped yet. Returns accepted up to 30 days after shipment if the pedal is unused and like new.

 

SHIPPING POLICY

Shipping within the US is free.

International depends on the pedal (Active Acid being bigger), but roughly $25 to Canada and $30 to the rest of the world, with $5 for each additional. 
If you’re NYC local you can try and arrange a pick up too. 
I get everything out as fast as I can, which is usually the business day after the order comes in. 

When you order you'll get a confirmation followed by tracking information.
